Mashonaland East: Chikomba, Goromonzi and Murewa RDCs, Mashonaland Central: Guruve, Mbire and Muzarabani RDCs: Mashonaland West: Chegutu Rural and Makonde RDCs - March 01, 2024

The aim of the project is to enhance meaningful participation of civil society organizations and community-based organizations in demanding and monitoring inclusive, accountable and resilience governance and service delivery in rural local authorities of Zimbabwe. The project is being implemented in partnership with the Association of Rural District Councils of Zimbabwe, Centre for Community Development Solutions, Lower Guruve Development Association and Nyahunhure Community Trust. The CFHD, as lead partner, has been facilitating learning among districts in Zimbabwe.  The action has been appreciated by the Government of Zimbabwe as it aids in advocating for the devolution mantra, gender-sensitive service delivery, promotion of rights of girls and other marginalized groups and the realization of Vision 2030 which is anchored on the 17 SDGs.  The action is also designed to promote and protect human rights as well as promote sustainable development through human-centred approaches. CFHD work in this project has enabled community-based planning and resilience building mechanisms in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and other economic shocks being faced by citizens nationally. The project exhibits CFHD’s experience in developing and implementing capacity building and knowledge exchange activities for community-based organizations and other stakeholders.
